Lutz Center Signage
ASM provides life-changing after-school and summer program opportunities to more than 18,000 Chicago high school teens each year. ASM recently opened The Michael and Karyn Lutz Center — a new facility in Chicago’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood — providing a greater reach and opportunity for Chicago teens.
Bark worked with ASM to design a donor wall and wayfinding signage for the Center. The unique materials and imaginative spaces throughout the building provided for abundant creativity.
Lutz Center Signage
Donor Wall
The donor wall greets visitors and teens as they come through the front doors of the Michael and Karyn Lutz Center. The large arrow directs people to the donor listing and into the Center while the history of the building is told through a timeline that is illuminated with backlit LEDs.
The backside of the donor wall was designed with a built in display and an area to showcase teen artwork. Mosaic tile patterns and elements can be seen throughout the donor wall and wayfinding signage.
Grand Opening
The grand opening of the Lutz Center included a ribbon cutting ceremony with Karyn Lutz and Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
Wayfinding Signage
The signage program was designed to accentuate the brand colors which designate each floor. The transparent backing of the signs helps to blend the different building materials used throughout the Center. All signs are updatable and can be customized for donor recognition.
Custom Icons
A custom icon set was developed for the signage program throughout the building.
